Our professional Convention & Visitors Bureau staff is ready to assist you with a variety of event services. Allow us to be your meeting resource from beginning to end. Consider the bureau as an extension of your staff when planning your next function in Council Bluffs.
Enhance your group's experience by utilizing the Council Bluffs CVB's Heartland Host program. Heartland Hosts play a vital role in our community as friendly, skilled tourism ambassadors. Whether you are looking for a step-on-guide to enhance your tour, historic re-enactors to add spice to your dining experience or a specialized speaker, you'll find it in the Heartland Hosts.
Most of the services we offer are complimentary, except where noted.
Pre-Conference Services*
- Provide letters of invitation/support.
- Arrange site visits to hotels/attractions for VIPs of your organization.
- Prepare bid proposals/presentations.
- Communicate to all Council Bluffs hotels, attractions and media via e-mail or broadcast fax.
- Assist with final site selections.
- Provide a complete, citywide listing for banquets/meeting sites.
Your One-Stop Resource Center*
- We supply maps, hotel and attraction brochures.
- Issue media lists/press releases, provided by the planner.
- Assist with local speakers.
- Provide Chamber business listings in selecting quality florists, caterers, rental agencies and other event suppliers.
- Suggest entertainment, dining, golfing and other off-site options.
- Offer spouse/family programs.
- Provide transportation options.
Once Your Convention is Booked*
- The CVB can arrange a welcome address by city officials and/or bureau staff.
- Provide Iowa's Leading Edge plastic delegate bags. Bags are pre-assembled with a Visitors Guide & Map, promotional item and coupons to local attractions.
- Prepare name badges. Just provide us with a logo and a database formatted list of delegates in advance, and we can print and supply customized name badges free of charge.
- Provide specialized ribbons for name badges such as "President," "Speaker," "VIP," etc.
- On-site visitor information booth to provide area attraction and dining information to your attendees.
- Provide registration assistance. Trained and CVB-certified Heartland Hosts are available to service your convention.
- One host, first 4 hours: Complimentary.
- Additional hosts/time: $8 per hour.
* A minimum of 50 total room nights in a Council Bluffs hotel must be booked to qualify for CVB services
