Farnam Companies manufacture and distribute products for the animal health industry with an emphasis on equine products. Farnam located in Council Bluffs and has been working toward their ultimate goal of consolidating all of their operations to Council Bluffs.

In one of their first expansions, Farnam proposed the construction of an additional 50,500-square-foot, $3.2 million expansion to house their VitaFlex division, employing an additional 32 people. With their facility located in the Council Bluffs enterprise zone, the Alliance facilitated Farnam's application and approval of benefits.

For their next expansion, Farnam added 110,000 square feet of new warehouse space, bringing their Council Bluffs' facility to almost 300,000 square feet under roof. Ten additional jobs were created. Again, Farnam qualified for enterprise zone benefits.

For both expansions, Farnam received a 3-year, 100% property tax abatement on the newly created value resulting from the expansion, a 10% investment tax credit, a refund of sales tax related to the expansion and doubled job-training benefits.
