Gig Internet Speeds Coming to Rural Council Bluffs/Treynor
Western Iowa Networks, an Iowa-based provider since 1905, will begin construction in 2023 of a fiber optic network in Pottawattamie County including portions of rural Council Bluffs and Treynor. Customers within the green areas of the included map can sign up for fiber services now and receive free fiber construction to their home and free installation. As this is a project made possible by the Empower Rural Iowa Broadband Grant Program, there may be an aid-to-construct fee applicable once the project is complete and crews move on to other projects, so signing up early is imperative.
The network that will be constructed is fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) with speed packages of 100/100 Mbps, 500/500 Mbps & 1 Gbps/500 Mbps along with crystal clear phone. Promotional internet pricing is also available. For more information or to sign up, please call 888-508-2946 or sign up online at www.westainet.com. Our fiber networks are planned with expansion in mind so if you currently are not located within one of our project areas, please fill out our interest form at the above web address so we can contact you if fiber does become available to you.
