  • Payroll Supervisor

    As a Payroll Supervisor you are in a hands-on role responsible for the daily leadership and supervision of multi-jurisdictional payroll processing, in accordance with established policies, procedures and compliance standards. In addition, this role will lead a team of payroll professionals who are responsible for payroll processing, general HR administrative support, such as; benefits administration and maintenance, HRIS reporting, and general recordkeeping.

    Essential Duties:

    • Provide supervision, guidance and hands on support of payroll processing for multi-jurisdictional payroll.
    • Audit and ensure compliance to standards including, verifying all pay rates, employment changes, garnishments, liens, levies, benefits etc. are calculated correctly.
    • Maintain the company HRIS system, and update all necessary data to correspond with employee changes including benefits administration, pay rate changes, tax updates etc.
    • Lead and provide management guidance on the application and administration of all payroll taxes, which includes processing, reviewing, and analyzing all tax notices and documents within established federal, state and local tax statutes.
    • Serve as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (i.e., HRIS, Benefits, Employment, Accounting, etc) for all processes related to payroll.
    • Provide assistance when necessary to reconcile and troubleshoot payroll and HR invoices.
    • Document and maintain process documentation, ensure compliance with multi-jurisdictional requirements.
    • Manage the setup, maintenance and monitoring of company/state tax requirements across multiple states.
    • Supervise regulatory and internal controls compliance.
    • Complete accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, year-end and ad-hoc reporting.
    • Communicate with HR vendors for questions or system issues.
    • Assist with benefits enrollment and related administration.
    • Ensure proper retention of all employment, payroll and benefits records.
    • Responsible for system reporting to support requests for data, such as providing payroll records to auditors, as needed.
    • Provide best in class customer service to all employees and managers related to pay, taxes, benefits, timekeeping, year-end reporting.
    • Other duties as requested.

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading payroll processes.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred, or equivalent experience; CPP designation a plus.
    • Proficiency with HRIS systems, UKG (formally Kronos) is strongly preferred.
    • Previous experience managing payroll processes in accordance with federal and state taxation laws, regulations and requirements.
    • Strong working knowledge of employee and employer taxing requirements.
    • Multi-jurisdictional payroll experience is preferred.
