    IEP Coordinator

    ISD is looking for a full-time IEP Coordinator to assist faculty with developing and maintaining Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing learners.

    Primary Functions:
    • Provide guidance to teachers on developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
    • Train new teachers on using the IEP system
    • Schedule and make preparations for IEP team meetings – annual reviews, amendments, and re-evaluations
    • Attend IEP meetings and record the Prior Written Notice
    • Complete follow-up steps after the IEP meetings
    • Gather and maintain IEP and documentation records
    • Coordinate meetings between outside agency service providers, vocational rehabilitation, school and dormitory staff
    • Ensure services, supports, and progress monitoring are in place
    • Remain up-to-date on current school and special education law

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in education or related field, and an Iowa teaching license with the Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement or Special Education endorsement or Speech Language Pathology endorsement.
    Applicants must possess the ability to reach the level of sign language proficiency designated for the position within the time frame established by the school's Sign Language Policy.
    Three years experience with IEPs.
    Experience working with the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing strongly preferred.

    Salary and Benefits: Determined by education and experience (BA degree -$48,000-$67,000; MA degree -$56,000-
    $87,000). Comprehensive benefits available.
    Work Schedule: Full-time, school year. First year contract - 191 days; subsequent years - 189 days.
