• Part-Time Group Fitness Instructor

    The Group Fitness Instructor will report to the Director of the Wellness Center. The Group Fitness Instructor will teach a variety of classes currently offered within the employee and student fitness programs. Instructors are responsible for developing individual lesson plans, being familiar with various styles of class formats offered, supervising class participants, and leading instructional sessions. All Student Services staff members must have the ability to excel in team and individual settings, multi-task, problem solve, manage their time, and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and faculty while thriving in a fast-paced environment.


    Hours per week: 3-5 hours

    Required Qualifications: A High school diploma or equivalent is required. It is required to have 1-3 years of experience in group fitness instruction, experience and knowledge of fitness training and education methods and techniques in the area of specialty, experience that demonstrates a commitment to delivering first-rate customer service, and experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students.

    Preferred Qualifications: A Professional instructor certification related to field of expertise. Examples include but not limited to Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Les Mills Body Pump, and Hip-Hop Fitness. CPR/AED/First Aid certified. Work is routinely held in a fitness environment and in various locations on campus.

    Physical Demands: Duties require lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus without color-blindness. Must have a high degree of energy, be physically fit, and have the endurance to complete the workout. Ability to lead high-level fitness classes and attract a high volume of class participants. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision. A high degree of problem-solving and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred. Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check.

    Salary: $25-$25 per hour
