School Assistant
Iowa School for the DeafFrom the classroom to the playground and everywhere in between, School Assistants work with faculty and staff to support the academic and social growth of our learners. School Assistants work to meet a learner's goals by taking data on daily progress, working with learners individually and in groups, fostering a safe educational environment, and communicating regularly with parents and staff.

School Assistant
School Assistants must have a high school diploma or GED, and preferably possess an Iowa Paraeducator Generalist Certificate. Previous experience working with students who are deaf and/or hard of hearing in an educational capacity is preferred. The ideal candidate would be fluent in American Sign Language and possess the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of staff and students. All staff are expected to reach the designated level of sign language proficiency within the time frame established by the school's sign policy.
Pay: $15.17/hr

Schedule: school year only; Monday-Friday
