The Student Activities Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and direction for a comprehensive student involvement program that is focused on engaging students with the campus community. This involves working closely with a variety of campus entities, including Residence Life, the Dr. John and Jean Marshall Wellness Center, Athletics, faculty, service learning, and food service. This position requires the ability to communicate consistently and efficiently with on and off campus services to ensure that event planning and facilitation are done well. Event facilitation will be done primarily through this position, which will result in some later work hours throughout the semester.
The Student Activities Coordinator will be responsible for helping student clubs and organizations get established, which includes creating a sustainable student government. This individual will be responsible for supervising the planning stages of events that any student club or organization is hosting. This position will take the lead on developing content for the Student Activities website, social media sites, campus information monitors, and print marketing materials. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Residence Life and Campus Life.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students.
Experience that illustrates a history of successfully collaborating with co-workers on a regular basis to achieve common goals.
Experience planning and facilitating student activities, events, and intramural sports.
