  • Assistant Facility Maintenance Manager

    The Assistant Facility Maintenance Manager provides daily direction to assigned internal teams and contract vendors. This role is also responsible for providing leadership, ensuring safe work practices and developing/approving procedures to maximize efficiency associated with facility and building maintenance processes and personnel.


    • Provide servant leadership, daily guidance and management to assigned team and contractors.
    • Serve as the technical resource to facility personnel and manufacturing operations regarding facility maintenance/equipment improvements and emergency repairs within assigned facilities.
    • Manage day to day maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and associated equipment.
    • Manage the Building Maintenance Work Request program, ensuring service requests are completed within established timelines and quality standards.
    • Manage the SQF Facility program within the assigned facility.
    • In collaboration with facility leadership teams, serve as a steward of fiscal guidelines and ensure department budget is maintained, including maintenance administration and outside services for facility and equipment repairs.
    • Promote systems and culture that strive for facility excellence, including total predictive maintenance, lean manufacturing, 5S, and equipment reliability as they pertain to assigned facilities.
    • Responsible for the coordination and management of assigned facility contractors.
    • Manage and review standard operating procedures and work instructions.
    • Manage facility compliance in regard to regulatory programs such as, FDA, OSHA, SQF mechanical integrity and process hazards analysis (PHA).
    • Ensure all safety programs and procedures are followed, accepted and endorsed by assigned teams and contract staff.
    • Interface and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient working relationship with members of all Airlite teams.
    • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
    • Report food safety concerns to management.
    • Uphold and maintain organizational values and standards.

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Previous experience in facilities management in a manufacturing setting.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing facility and/or maintenance teams is required.
    • Capability to solve complex problems, utilizing strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
    • Superior organizational skills and the ability to assemble resources needed to orchestrate multiple projects/activities and accomplish goals.
    • Model a collaborative leadership style with the ability to build partnerships and influence others into action.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to document technical processes.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and consultative approach; tactful in dealing with people at all levels.
    • Strong sense of urgency, self-motivated and positive.
    • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
    • Ability to actively lead change initiatives.
    • Display highest ethical standards.
    • Maintain the utmost level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information.
    • Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
