Firefighter & Firefighter/Paramedic
The City of Council Bluffs is now hiring for Firefighter and Firefighter/Paramedic. We will only accept the first 250 applications total for both Firefighter and Firefighter/Paramedic. Therefore, the close date will be January 31, 2023, or the date that 250 applications are received, whichever is earlier. Applicants are encouraged to save or print the informational packet found on the City's Employment Opportunities page for their records.
If applicants qualify and wish to be considered for both Firefighter and Firefighter/Paramedic, they must fill out a separate application for each position.- The pay range for the position of Firefighter is $55,850.87 with step increases to $75,918.11.
- The pay range for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic is $57,805.50 with step increases to $78,575.36.
The written exam is the next step in the application process following the application period. Applicants who are included in the first 250 applications received are invited to take the written exam. This will be held on February 14, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the Mid America Center - Ballroom A. There is a passing score of 70%. If you wish to be considered for this position, you must be present for and complete this written exam.
