  • Fluids Coordinator

    The Fluids Coordinator is responsible for leading all activities for packaging department’s disposition of non-conforming componentry and finished goods. This is a production-oriented position and requires physical labor, including frequent transportation of products and bulk materials.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.

    • Coordinate and perform rework or disposition of packaging componentry, such as bottles and cartons, that are damaged or otherwise non-conforming. Manage overall packaging quarantine area and lead recovery team in handling and disposition of such items.
    • Monitor inventory of and assist with appropriate disposition of damaged or nonconforming items, such as leaking bottles or other non-saleable product.
    • Transport product to be disposed of to packaging quarantine area. Drive fork truck as needed.
    • Sort product to minimize accumulation of salvage.
    • Complete necessary inventory transactions for dumped product. Track data of why product is being dumped. Work with facility managers to ensure accurate records of product disposition during off or non-scheduled shifts.
    • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop or department. Develop plans to motivate co-workers and achieve work goals.
    • Work with supervisors to prioritize and implement continuous improvement activities.
    • Lead and oversee teams of temporary workers during occasional large scale dumping or rework of finished good projects.
    • Serves as a back up to the Packaging Coordinator.
    • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
    • Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
    • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

    Minimum Experience, Education, and CertiFications

    • Six months related experience, or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
    • At least one year successful experience in packaging operations preferred.

     

    Physical Demands OF Essential Functions

    • This is a physical job requiring the individual to regularly move about to perform operations functions and frequently remain in a stationary position while monitoring production.
    • The individual in this position will also need to occasionally transport products and materials weighing up to 60 pounds around the load area, position oneself to access and inspect products or clean in tight spaces and elevated areas, and manipulate packaging or products to inspect quality.

     

    Environmental Conditions

    The environmental conditions described here are representative of those the associate encounters while performing the Essential Functions of the job.

    • The individual will be expected to work in a manufacturing plant environment, which may include being exposed to work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, and extreme heat.  Typical noise level is loud.
