    Children’s Square U.S.A. is a private, not-for-profit organization. Founded in 1882, Children’s Square U.S.A. has a rich history of caring for children from birth to 23 and their families, instilling hope and helping to restore lives.

    We are currently searching for a Chief Human Resources Officer. This position is part of the Executive Leadership team and reports directly to the President & CEO.  This position must have a strategic vision to include department management, staffing, policies and procedures, quality, compliance, training, policies and procedures, and employee engagement.
    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Direct the human resources functions of the organization and ensure best practices.
    • Develop a strong understanding and appreciation of the organization’s structure, culture, and objectives in order to develop and implement organizational development
    • Supervise Human Resources staff
    • Direct training and development to include needs assessment for training and staff
    • Oversee the employee recognition program
    • Direct the planning and administration of new employee orientation and onboarding
    • Guide the planning of employee relations, equal employment opportunity, and diversity and inclusion programs.
    • Conduct annual employee engagement surveys
    • Direct and implement annual compensation and benefits plans
    • Responsible for FMLA, LOA, and Workers' Compensation case management
    • Prepare annual HR and staff development budgets. 
    • Perform other duties as required.
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field required.  Master’s degree in a related area of study preferred.
    • HRCI or SHRM or related certification preferred.
    • Five years’ experience of increasing responsibility in Organizational Development or Human Resources fields required.
    • Previous experience in non-profit, human services, social work, or residential care organizations is beneficial.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience is sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties and responsibilities.
     
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
    • Extensive and advanced knowledge of the organizational development or human resources fields.
    • Previous supervisory experience is required.
    • Strategic and operational planning skills including budgeting for, designing, implementing, and evaluating programs.
    • Ability to interact with others with sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
    • Must be able to maintain a high degree of professionalism.
