    SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    This position will serve as a direct care staff in a residential facility serving men and women with a mental health or dual diagnosis condition. The program provides support services and temporary shelter to individuals. The role of the program aide is to provide facility coverage, assist meeting the basic and service-related needs of clients, and performing duties to ensure the day to day operations of the facility.

    Work Schedule: 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 a.m., three days per week including a weekend day.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • *Responds to emails, phone calls, and faxes in a professional and timely manner
    • *Develops a supportive relationship with clients
    • *Completes intake procedures with incoming clients
    • *Responds to clients’ needs during scheduled shifts
    • *Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of facility, including monitoring residents’ activities
    • *Facilitate in-house activities, education, and support groups as assigned
    • *Orients clients to Bridges program expectations and addresses client non-compliance as necessary to create a safe and secure environment for other residents
    • *Monitors client self-administration of medication and follows procedures of recording
    • *Implements case management plans and provides support services to clients under the direction of the program coordinator
    • *Able to work independently with little supervision during scheduled shifts.
    • Provides reports to Bridges staff regarding client activities and needs at shift change.
    • Meets regularly with the program coordinator to review work schedule and address any issues that have come up during scheduled shifts.
    • *Maintains required records and statistical information.
    • Coordinates with other staff for continual coverage each month.
    • Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
    • Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
    • *Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
    • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
    • Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
    • *Creates, maintains and shares as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
    • *Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agency’s ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
    • *Essential functions of this job are to be performed on company physical work site.
    • Performs other program related duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School Diploma
    • Previous human service experience desirable, but not required
    • Valid driver’s license/ acceptable driving record
