Provides leadership and oversight to shelter and housing programming in a manner that will ensure the highest level of participant services and program accountability while empowering a positive work environment. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Program Manager, the Shelter and Housing Coordinator oversees the functioning of the 24-hour shelter and the housing component. Completes grant requirements regarding goals and evaluation of the shelter and housing component. Provides support and supervision to full and part-time staff. Works to establish and maintain a network of collaborative partnerships with service-related entities to facilitate optimum participant access to needed services. Is responsible for mastering information regarding best practices regarding shelter and housing services, including Iowa Finance Authority, Housing and Urban Development, and other state and federal agencies and maintains relationships with property owners to assist survivors in exiting homelessness and maintaining housing. Oversees financial, housing, employment, and education needs for participants through individual and group facilitation. Requires scheduling flexibility to include some evening and weekend work.
