Operations Manager
 
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse including operations, customer service, office operations, engineering/maintenance and production scheduling.
 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage, recruit, train, develop, and provide performance feedback to direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and safety.
• Assist in establishing and achieving warehouse performance objectives (KPI’s) and strategic planning.
• Plan for and direct warehouse operations to include production and labor planning for on time execution.
• Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling merchandise, and maintaining inventory.
• Ensure operations team follows standard operating procedures (SOP’s).

• Participate in company marketing and sales efforts, including planning new account strategies, prospecting new accounts, sales calls, developing and quoting rates, negotiating contracts, and closing sales when requested by the General Manager.
• Develops and maintains a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training and professional development. Matches the skill and background of personnel to the work required.
• Assures that customer accounts receive prompt, efficient service from the office and warehouse staff.
• Maintains appropriate contact with all accounts and responds promptly to all requests when required.

• Experience in all levels of management.
• Complete understanding of the public refrigerated warehouse industry.
• Demonstrated proficiency in development and execution of strategy and annual plans (budget, operational performance, SOPs, etc.).
• Experience with continuous quality improvement processes.
• Experience managing, training, and developing people in operational roles.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
• Ability to lead team meetings, make presentations and deliver technical results to a non-technical audience.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit and lift 75 pounds.
