About Us

NEF is a Community Development Finance Institution serving Southwestern Iowa small and micro businesses with a Revolving Loan Fund, Training, and Coaching.

The Nebraska Enterprise Fund (NEF) is a certified Community Development Financial Institution founded in 1994. NEF’s work has centered around providing access to capital, coaching and training for traditionally underserved small businesses. Training and technical assistance was the bedrock of NEF’s work during its initial years. The organization began direct business lending in 2010. NEF serves a target market of traditionally disadvantaged small businesses, including those owned by people of color, low-income people, women and veterans, as well as businesses located in low-income communities.

It’s easy for the small and micro business owner to feel like it’s them against the world – that they have to face the challenges tied to entrepreneurial success all by themselves. Nebraska Enterprise Fund is that ally, that champion that says, “Even though you may be the only one leading the office or storefront, you are not alone.” Through its provision of capital, training and mentoring, NEF exists to propel the small and micro business owner forward; an expert team ready and eager to partner for what’s possible.

NEF, Partnering for what's Possible.

NEF envisions a vibrant small business eco-system where every small and micro business has the opportunity to start, grow, and prosper. NEF supports underserved communities by providing micro and small businesses with access to training, technical assistance, and capital.
