Why a Housing Revitalization Program? Â
Our community has a housing shortage that affects our ability to grow. One way to address this is by restoring our existing housing stock through rehabilitation. The 712 Initiative is working to purchase properties in poor condition with the intent of completing a full renovation. Renovating the property helps to preserve the architectural fabric of the community and once renovated, the property can realize its full potential and ultimately improve the block.
Completed Projects
This foursquare home has 4-bedrooms, 1.5 baths and includes original wood trim and floors. All new kitchen and bathrooms, this has 1,440 sq ft of finished living space and an additional 720 sq ft unfinished basement. The first floor kitchen footprint was reworked for better efficiency and to add a 1/2 bath.
This property was purchased from the mortgage company after the previous owner started in on renovations and abandoned it part way through.
