About the Program
Join Leadership Council Bluffs 2025–2026 to grow as a community leader. Applications due June 1, 2025. Learn locally. Lead boldly. Shape the future of Council Bluffs.
Purpose: Identify and engage emerging leaders who are passionate about serving and strengthening the Council Bluffs community.
Focus: Civic awareness, community advocacy, and relationship-building with local leaders and institutions.
Format: Hands-on learning through behind-the-scenes access to key sectors, immersive site visits, and collaborative community impact projects.
Participation Requirements
Attendance
Participants are expected to attend all scheduled sessions, including the two-day Opening Retreat and the Closing Retreat. Your presence is vital to the success of the cohort and the program.
Engagement
Active participation is essential. Engage fully in all program activities, discussions, and group experiences to get the most from your Leadership Council Bluffs journey.
Community Project
Each participant must complete a Community Trustee Project, which requires additional time outside of scheduled sessions. This is your opportunity to put leadership into action and serve the Council Bluffs community in a meaningful way.
Service
Graduates are encouraged to stay involved through the Leadership Council Bluffs Alumni Association and ongoing community service efforts. The program is just the beginning of your leadership impact.
Unexcused absences may result in removal from the program.

Who Should Apply?
- Dedication to serving the Council Bluffs community
- Previous volunteer/leadership experience (preferred)
- Desire to collaborate with local leaders
- Commitment to professional and personal growth
- Diversity in background, industry, and perspective
Note: One participant per organization per year. Acceptance is competitive. Notifications sent in July 2025.
Program Touition
- Covers All Program Expenses
- Payment deadline: August 4, 2025
Scholarship Opportunities
Limited scholarships are available. Request and submit the scholarship form by June 9, 2025.
Participation is not transferable and tuition is non-refundable.
